Elijah’s Birthday poem 2019

In a world shrouded in darkness

Consumed with bickering and bitterness

So many are filled with coldness

Spreading hate like a sickness

You are a warm glow through I all

Arms open to catch those who fall

In need, your name they will call

For in storms you still stand tall

A gift to all who cross your path

They enjoy your smile and your laugh

Whether helping them with their math

Or just being in their class

You’re a fantastic friend, brother, son

So curious, clever and fun

And while your life has just begun

As your dad, I feel I’ve already won
