Poem: Victim?

Victim?

Of what?

Your own selfishness?

Your constant hatefulness?

Your disrespectfulness?

Victim?

Since when?

When you started seeing other men?

When you lied about where you’d been?

When you covered up your own sins?

Victim?

Unimaginable.

You never make apologies.

You drain everyone’s energies.

You reject accountability.

Victim?

I’m confused.

You hit me in the face many times.

You constantly cheat and lie.

You care for no one else’s life.

Victim?

Serious?

You abandoned me in pain.

Threw dirt upon my name.

And lie about me without shame.

Victim?

Nah.

You’re an unapologetic abuser.

Beat people down then call them loser.

Without that mask you’re a monster.

Victim?

Yes.

Me, your daughter, my children.

The boys you violated when moved in.

Every partner you’ve abandoned.

Victim?

No longer.

I’m not afraid of you any more.

You’re sick, disgusting to the core.

A monster that I now abhor.
