Poem: From Within

Hard rock and stone,

to protect me.

A tall fortress,

Stood mightily.

To guard my heart,

From attacks.

So threatening,

With sword and ax.

Safe inside,

I calmly slept.

Goals and dreams,

Securely kept.

Until you came,

I let you in.

Destroyed me,

From within.

Like a serpent,

A venomous bite.

With no defenses,

Not walls nor knight.

The kingdom dead,

As you cackle.

Stole my wealth,

Destroyed my castle.
